About Us

Sweet Pea Nourishment’s founder, Liz Solms, grew up in an apartment building right in the city, with no backyard in sight. Perhaps that is why she always sought out small places to grow and tend vegetables, from a fragrant windowsill to a lively community garden patch.

As time went on, growing and seeking out only the most natural, seasonal foods, and preparing them with the simplest, time honored recipes became much more than a personal pleasure. Liz has instructed cooking and healthy food preparation across a network of Farmers’ Markets as a Certified Community Food Educator, worked for international sustainable agriculture organizations, connected many a farm to restaurants and hotels, and established an interactive urban nutrition program in New York City—just to name some of the food-based initiatives of which Liz has been a part.

Her favorite meals are those prepared for friends and family on mismatched plates. Wine is always served at Liz’s house in small juice glasses. Her most favorite gift ever was a cast iron pot to hang above the fireplace, always keeping something tasty warm.
